Adaptive baby grows - how Stretchaboo can help
Share
Adaptive baby grows help parents to dress babies and toddlers with health conditions or physical challenges more easily and with less discomfort.
Though Stretchaboo wasn't specifically designed to be adaptive clothing, our unique design can be a help for a few reasons:
- Changes are as quick and painless as possible thanks to the stretchy legs that pull on and off like trousers

- The top pulls up and crotch pulls down to give easy access to the tummy and nappy area. This can be really useful for accommodating feeding tubes or monitors
- There are built-in, foldback feet on all sizes and scratch mitts up to 12 months to avoid separate socks or mittens

- The super-soft fabric is incredibly comfortable and has no itchy internal labels or zips which can be better for those with sensory issues
- The hypoallergenic properties of our 95% bamboo viscose fabric is ideal for eczema and sensitive skin
- With no metal buttons or zips, our baby grows are a great option for for MRI scans
Since we launched, we’ve been really pleased to receive some lovely feedback from customers who were looking for baby grows for medical needs and have found Stretchaboo helpful.
You can read all our reviews on our reviews page, but here are a few which specially focus on Stretchaboo as an adaptive baby grow:
“The stretchiness of the fabric make it so easy to put on and off. I bought a number of them in different colours as we are going into hospital soon for a feeding tube into the tummy. These will allow us easy access. He also has lymphodema of the legs and feet (no socks allowed) so buying clothes which can accommodate the swelling is a challenge. The added benefit of included feet was a positive.” - G
“My little boy has cerebral palsy, dressing him can be challenging at time, your suit make it that bit easier. They are now are new favourite outfit for his baby development classes and physio, as they are snug, breathable and perfect to see movements with out removing clothing.” - Samantha
“Sometimes when she cries during nappy changes we don’t redo poppers so we can comfort her quicker. This is avoided in this design which is an advantage. I imagine the design would also be helpful for caregivers where poppers might be trickier (e.g. sight/dexterity issues).” - Chloe
